Deleting your Chat Film account

Chat Film is operated by Chat Film (ABN 47 271 351 041), Sheidow Park SA 5158, Australia.

You can delete your Chat Film account and its data from inside the app. You do not need to contact us to do it.

How to delete your account

Open Chat Film and sign in.
Go to Settings → Account Settings.
Tap Delete Account.
Enter your password to confirm.

We ask for your password because deletion is permanent and reachable from an already-unlocked phone — having the device alone should not be enough to destroy your account.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

What is deleted

Deleted	Detail
Your profile	Name, profile picture, chat ID and email
Your posts	Every post, and the photos and videos uploaded with them
Your connections	Friends list and any pending friend requests
Push tokens	The device tokens used to send you notifications
Your login	The account itself, so it can never be signed in to again

What is kept, and why

Messages you sent stay in the recipient’s conversation. A chat belongs to both people in it. Deleting your account does not delete the other person’s copy — otherwise anyone could send something abusive and then erase the evidence by closing their account. Your name and profile disappear; the messages remain on their side, attributed to a deleted user.

Reports may be kept after deletion, for enforcement and to prevent repeat abuse.

Retention period

Deletion takes effect immediately. Backups may persist for up to 7 days after deletion, in line with our hosting provider’s daily backup retention, after which they are overwritten.

If you have lost access to your account and cannot delete it yourself, email support@chat-film.com and we will action the request. We respond within 30 days.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You can delete individual posts and their media in the app at any time without deleting your account. For anything else, contact support@chat-film.com.
