Child safety standards

Chat Film has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out our standards, how we enforce them, and how to reach us.
Our standards
The following are prohibited on Chat Film without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form
- Sexualised depictions of minors, including drawn, edited or generated imagery
- Grooming, or any attempt to solicit sexual contact or material from a minor
- Sextortion, or threatening to share a minor’s intimate imagery
- Trafficking of minors, or any advertisement or facilitation of it
- Any other sexualisation or exploitation of a person under 18
These rules apply to every part of Chat Film: messages, posts, photos, videos, profile pictures, display names and chat IDs.
Violating them results in immediate and permanent removal from Chat Film. We report to the relevant authorities as set out below.
How Chat Film is designed to reduce risk
Chat Film is not a public social network. Its structure limits the contact that makes exploitation possible elsewhere:
- No discovery and no stranger contact. There is no search for other users, no friend suggestions, no recommended accounts and no public profiles.
- Contact requires mutual consent. Two people can only message each other after one sends a friend request to a chat ID they already know, and the other accepts it. There is no way to message someone who has not accepted.
- No public feed. Posts are visible only to accepted friends.
- Blocking is immediate and permanent, in both directions. It removes the friendship, deletes the shared conversation and prevents any further contact.
Reporting a child safety concern
In the app. Any post, message or user can be reported from the app. Tap the menu on the content or profile, choose Report, and select a reason. Harassment, nudity or sexual content, and violence are all listed; anything else can be reported under Something else with a written description.
By email. Child safety concerns can be sent directly to support@chat-film.com. Reports of CSAE are prioritised above all other reports.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
How we respond
Reports are reviewed by a person. A report of CSAE is prioritised over all other report types.
Where we find a violation, we remove the content and permanently terminate the account. Where the material appears to constitute CSAM or another child exploitation offence, we preserve the relevant records and report to the appropriate authority — in Australia, the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where Chat Film is available, and we respond to lawful requests from law enforcement.
Encryption and what it means for reports
Message content on Chat Film is end-to-end encrypted, and our servers hold no key to read it.
This does not put messages beyond reporting. When a user reports a message, their device discloses a key for that specific message along with the report, so we can review exactly what was reported. Reports include cryptographic proof that the reported content is genuine and was not altered by the reporter.
Encryption protects private conversations from us and from outsiders. It does not protect abusive content from being reported by the person who received it.
