Blocking is immediate and works both ways. Every report is read by a person, and we act on objectionable content within 24 hours. Parental controls are enforced on the server if you need them — the PIN is checked by the database, not the phone, so they can't be switched off from the app.
And you don't have to take the encryption on trust: open any chat, tap Verify encryption, and compare safety numbers with your friend to confirm nobody is listening in.
